 Dear Suzanne,

Thank you so much for all that you do for our children through the Institute for Enhanced Classroom Hearing.  Our Baltimore County Elementary School is one of a few schools that has had a sound enhancement system installed in the classrooms.   Having experienced the incredible benefits of this system firsthand, I couldn't imagine our children going back to a classroom without one.  

 The  amount of noise generated within an elementary school classroom is incredible!  Movement in their seats, old heating equipment, rustling papers, and especially talking, significantly reduces how well each student can hear the teacher.  The system installed in our classrooms has surround-sound type speakers and projects the teacher's voice from all directions.  Each time I volunteer or visit one of these classrooms I am amazed by how noticeably attentive and focused  the students are.  What I appreciate most about this system is that the student sitting directly next to the teacher can hear as well as the student sitting in the back corner of the classroom.   These sound enhancement systems need to be in each classroom in every school.

Thank you so much for your kind words and appreciation.  But, more importantly, thank you SO much for sharing your observations as a parent.  This website is filled with research that supports the use of sound enhancement technology in the schools, but personal experiences and observations are equally meaningful and sometimes are more appropriate to the realities of the day to day classroom environment.  I really want to encourage other parents, teachers, even students themselves visiting this website, to share their experiences.  Thanks again.
